[CLASS] What the BLOG is Going On?

Ever wonder what the BLOG is going on?  Yeah, you're in good company with a lot of other real estate agents.  But it's not as scary, as difficult, or as confusing as you may think.  (And it's DEFINITELY not pointless like I hear some say it is!)

Luxury Real Estate Marketing: Where for art thou?

So today I was helping one of my real estate clients with their online marketing. He's a luxury market specialist in the Paradise Valley and Scottsdale areas. He's been a top producer in real estate since 1991, so this guy knows his way around the industry. For the past couple of decades, he's built a solid and rewarding business all based on referral. Now it's time to take it online.

I'm not going to go into all of the cool things we're setting up to get his marketing systems working together.  Nor will I tell you what platforms we're using, or any of my super secret real estate marketing tips that will make this agent shine online!

"Why not?" you're wondering.  You may have arrived at this post hoping for that exact knowledge!

Nope...can't do it.  There's 3 reasons:

Email Tips: What's in YOUR Signature?

Your signature line in your email is one of your most valuable marketing opportunities, and there are a lot of ways to convey the important business information that people need in order to connect with you.

Too often, I see professionals use .jpg images as their email signatures.  While they may look fantastic on your computer, they often don't translate well to cell phones and other mobile devices.

Here's the thing: 75% of people in the US use email on their smart phone. (Source: Nielsen's Mobile Consumer Report - Feb. 2013) So if you're email signature isn't translating to mobile, that's a HUGE miss!

We Love Old Town Scottsdale - Realtor Marketing Video

I'm always asked about video marketing for Real Estate.  What are the best tips and tricks?  How long should the video be?  Etc, etc, etc.

For the most part, a lot of Realtors hop onto Youtube, upload a version of their virtual tour for their latest listing, and call it a day.  Ask these agents if they use video marketing and they'll say they sure do.

If you've ever sat through one of my Real Estate Marketing classes, had a one-on-one real estate coaching session, or even just read my email newsletter on real estate marketing, you'll know I adhere to the philosophy of "Good, Better, Best" when it comes to real estate marketing.  In my opinion,

Realtors: Do you know where your target market hangs out online?

When I ask Realtors, "Who is your target market?" I often get the answer:

"Buyers and Sellers."

This is NOT a target market.  Those define behaviors and a side of the transaction.  When defining your target market, it's important to know their demographics and lifestyle behaviors.  Once you know THOSE things, you can define your target.  Once you've defined your target market, you can determine HOW to reach them.

Below is the Forrester Research tool that helps you find how your target audience engages with social media.  Play with it, then use your findings to help you determine HOW you will engage with them online.

This is just a quick and easy tool.  If you REALLY want to dig into social media strategy as a Realtor, contact me.  Let's have a conversation to see if I can be of any help, or point you in the right direction.

iPad for Realtors: Contract to Close with D. Patrick Lewis

I'm hosting a class taught by D. Patrick Lewis called iPad for Realtors: Contract to Close.  I've hosted this class a few times, and all the agents who attend have GREAT feedback.

So I thought I'd blog about a few tips Patrick is dropping the class.
